December 07 a new family member!We have gone a long time without a cat or dog! however, we now have a beautiful cat called Peppy. he turned up at Sue's work over a year ago and has been living in the roof of the building! what he ate I am not sure but with the holidays looming we thought it a good idea to bring him home and we love him!! he is getting more domesticated each day! November 14 Brenda & MauriceFor any family interested I have just received an email from Brenda, They left Perth on 5th November and are going round Australia!! they have reached Ceduna and enjoying every minute of being travelers! After Flinders rangers they will go to spend time with Maurice's family in Melbourne. After some time in NSW they head for Queensland. Sounds good to me. John (Dadgriffo) October 20 My passion fruit vineWhen I first moved into this house I wast pleased that my neighbour had a very big passion fruit vine that had got over my side of the deviding fence! Due to some fruit rat pests my neighbour only got a few passion fruit but I got plenty! So I regularly gave my neighbour a bag of fruit and even mad some home made passionfruit ice cream which is very yummy and gave a container to my neighbour. However, for some reason my neighbour cut down his vine and last year I planted my own! it takes a while to establish and I only got about 10 passionfruit last year. I have just inspected it and guess what? it is going to have dozzens of fruit by the number of flowers I should get a very good crop. I have included a photo. October 16 School holidaySue and I have just enjoyed a holiday with her Neice Pia and Pia's partner and their baby! They live in Denmark and are both doctors. We decided that our house is not suitable for a baby, being simidetached, so we rented a house near the beach at Goolwa. This was a briliant idea and worked well. The baby Mathias, is a good baby and was the centre of attention at all times! He is 7 months old and nearly crawling. We had some nice trips out doing things like cheese tasting-yummy! and lots of beach walks. The southern ocean is freezing cold so I only put my feet in! but Lars actually went for a swim!! He is a Viking!! We had recently had some stormy weather so the waves were huge! very pretty. They left us on Friday to fly home and used our new Adelaide airport which is very flash! a vast improvement on our old shed. August 19 A new commitment!!I have been going to Neighbourhood watch meetings for about a year now, they are every two months so it is no big deal. I started getting involved when I took on the task of newsletter editor! I actually like doing newsletters and do the one each month for the Freemasons. We have just had the NHW AGM and I have been voted in as Area coordinator! which is like being the chairman!! So now I run this area. I am not really sure what it means yet!! I am sure someone will tell me! August 10 I find this difficult!!Why do I find this so difficult?? I know I am getting old and senile but things just do not go as I want with computers! Yesterday I went to the trouble of doing a big blog about nothing very interesting but it took me a while! I forgot to give it a name so it was listed as yesterdays date and I thought tat was OK. When I went to read it there was nothing there si I decided to delete it! so the computer said no you cant do that ! try again later?? perhaps I expect too much? anyway I now forget what I put so it could not have been important.

Cheers all- if anyone ever reads these! Bye July 22 Wow! What a holidaySue and I came back from our 4 day break feeling really GREAT!! what a wonderul place. We will definately go back and enjoy that luxury again. We watched some good movies, drank some excelent wine, had many great spas in the 6 person jackuzi-is that how you spell it? and loved the open log fire. The bonus was that we were only 3 klm from the best beach in SA and every morning we walked for miles along a prestine beach. We arrived in the rain and had 3 days of clear blue sky-how lucky can you get? |
